Angelika Y. Sadar, MA, PTR  -  Licensed Psychologist

Angelika coordinates the treatment and training of neurofeedback, provides community education, trains other professionals in neurofeedback and provides psychotherapy to children and adults. Angelika is a licensed psychologist who is certified in clinical hypnosis and is credentialed by the United States Tennis Association as a Specialist in Sports Psychology. She has been in private practice over 20 years and has extensive experience with children, adolescents and adults. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, Pennsylvania Psychological Association, American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and Professional Tennis Registry.
 
Angelika has been a biofeedback provider, trained by EEG Spectrum, since 2002. She uses high performance training programs that were designed in conjunction with NASA as well as other computer-assisted training programs that are used to alleviate behaviors associated with anxiety, depression, ADHD and other concerns.

Sports Related: She specializes in working with high performance athletes, including nationally ranked juniors and professional athletes. She is the official sports psychologist for the Philadelphia Freedoms professional tennis team, and consults to the USTA High Performance Committee.

Mitchell M. Sadar, Ph.D  -  Licensed Psychologist

Mitch SadarDr. Mitchell Sadar is a licensed psychologist who has been practicing clinical psychology for over 25 years. He has worked in diverse settings and has treated a wide array of patients. Dr. Sadar has worked in adult and adolescent inpatient units, substance abuse rehabilitation programs, prisons, and in private practice. He considers himself to be a generalist and has worked with a wide spectrum of mental health and life issues.

In 1999, Dr. Sadar was trained in neurofeedback and branched off into the realm of peak performance psychology.  Since that time he has devoted his time and energy to combining  his clinical psychology background and experience with emerging computer technology to develop ways to help individuals function better, be it overcoming symptoms of autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, etc., to becoming better performers in work or sports, to developing further their spirituality.

Additionally Dr. Sadar works with athletes of all levels, with a specialty in golf.

Robert Maier, MS  -  Relational Therapist
 
 
Bob MaierBob has been with Sadar Psychological and Sports since 1996. In addition to providing counseling to individuals, couples and families, Bob is the Director of the Mental Health Unit at SCI Graterford, where he is the administrator of the inpatient unit. Prior to his entry into the counseling field, Bob had careers in both banking and real estate and served in the U.S. Navy. He is a native of the Norristown area, where he raised his family and continues to enjoy bike riding and being a Penn State fan.

Bob offers his services at SPS on Monday and Wednesday evenings.  


Amy Bernstiel  -  Psychological Test Administrator, EEG Biofeedback Technician, IM Technician, Billing

Amy BernstielAmy has been with our office since May 2007. She graduated from West Chester University in May 2005 with a degree in Biology. Prior to becoming the office manager at SPS, Amy worked as a retail store manager, where she specialized in visual merchandising.  She was also a Kindergarten Teacher’s Assistant in the Norristown Area School District.

Amy also does all the SPS billing, and handles all related questions. 


Sports Related: 
Amy has always been very active with horses, and has taken a personal interest in showing riders of all levels the benefits of Interactive Metronome and EEG Biofeedback. Amy continues her equestrian pursuits at Brandamore Bridge Farm in Honeybrook, PA.  She specializes in rehabilitating horses for jumping competitions.  During her free time she likes to ride her horses and swim class 10 whitewater in the Grand Canyon.

Larah Sadar
Larah obtained her BS with honors in Biology, with a concentration in behavior, from University of Dayton in 2007.  Post graduation, Larah lived in variety of places and explored a variety of careers - including raft guiding in West Virginia, and skiing and Natural Resource Management in Colorado - before moving to Pennsylvania to work for Sadar Psychological and Sports Center in development of their Peak Performance Program.

Larah enjoys challenge, exploration, and philosophy. Her perfect day would be hiking to the top of a mountain with her dog, then coming back down and eating something sweet!
 
 
 
Sports Related: Born a natural athlete, she has been very involved with many sports. She lettered in three high school sports per year- tennis, swimming, and track- while competing in softball at the national level through 2003.  She also competed in triathlons, and ranked as high as top 250 nationally in her age group in 2006.  She now works with athletes from a variety of levels and sports to enhance their mental fitness and take their game to the next level. 


Chaz Scott - EEG Biofeedback Technician, IM Technician

After attending Archbishop John Carroll high school, Chaz received a football scholarship to Shippensburg University, where he attained a BA in Sociology. While attending Shippensburg, Chaz was an active volunteer with the local Boys & Girls Club. During the summer he worked as a Good Stewardship camp counselor, and has always enjoyed activities that allow him to interact with and help people. 
 
For fun in his free time, Chaz is producing a series of workout DVDs. He also regularly participates in the Philadelphia Sports and Social Club co-ed football league, writes and produces music, and watches Seinfeld with whatever time is left over.
Sports Related: Chaz has been an athlete his entire life, focusing primarily on football and baseball. He has a passion for sports that combine competition with teamwork. Chaz’s has long been interested in learning why people do the things they do. He’s excited that working as a biofeedback technician not only provides that learning opportunity, but also the chance to share that knowledge and help others.

Thaisa Mendez - EEG Biofeedback Technician

Thaisa has a history as a Children's Brain Developmentalist at the Institute for the Achievement of Human Potential (IAHP) in Philadelphia. She also has a core understanding that the brain is changing every day and has experience with the power of the human brain. Given this, she has found her niche as a biofeedback technician at Sadar Psycholgical.

Thaisa obtained a Masters in Audiology in her home country, Brazil, in 1990.  She moved to Philadelphia in 1991 and began working for IAHP as a Children's Brain Developmentalist, teaching parents how to interact with their children to best remediate their child's brain injury. 

She was awarded the Brazilian Gold Medal for her achievement in Brain Development.

In 2007, Thaisa became a Certified Medical Interpreter for Spanish and Portuguese, and she currently uses this certification at her job at Abington Memorial Hospital and Einstein Hospital. 

Outside of Thaisa's efforts in brain development and medical interpretation, she loves to spend time with her two daughters, Veronica and Gabriella, travel, and learn new cultures. 


Kristin Dugas - Administrative Assistant

Kristin DugasAfter attending Kennedy Kendrick Catholic High School, Kristin obtained her Assocaite's degree in Engineering.  She is currently pursuing additional education in Drafting and Design.  Kristin bring her caring and patient demeanor to SPS, as well as flexibility and dependability.  Her favorite things in life are plants, dancing, nature, and animals. 

Congratulations to Kristin for having a healthy baby boy, Roman, on July 12th!  We are happy to have her back on a part-time basis!




Bailey a.k.a "Pants" - The Office Mascot

Bailey is a border collie mix who was given a second chance when Amy took him home from the Conshohocken SPCA in March 2007.  Currently 5 years old, Bailey has a very friendly and calm demeanor.  SPS employees enjoy his positive presence in office.  If you have an allergy or fear of dogs, please let us know and we will gladly make accommodations!

Bailey is fondly known to his friends and family as "Pants" because his tail often wags his whole body - he's a "wiggle-pants"!  His favorite things include napping in any bed he can find, tummy scratching, going for trail runs with horses, and wagging.  Although he is not much of a "food hound", he is always happy to have a pat on the head or a scratch on the ears.
