A word on tennis psychology . . .
Did you know that you can purposely train your mind so that one bad shot does not lead to another?
You can clear your mind between shots by setting a cue. Setting a cue is done by matching an action or thought with a memory of doing well. A simple cue is to squeeze your index finger and thumb together following a good shot. Your mind will pair the cue with the good shot and all your experiences associated with that shot. You can then use the cue following a missed shot to change your emotional state. Practice the cue several times, then begin to use it where you want as part of your recovery routine.
